There’s no doubt that the ugg boot has taken the US by storm, but what about its original country, Australia? Isn’t that where they started? In fact, the whole ugg boots fashion line is very popular in the land down under, more than you would think. The one thing that fuels the demand for both is good old Hollywood. Known for its glitz and glamour of movie stars, there is nothing else like it anywhere on the planet.

Fashion trends can be jump started by just one famous celebrity and the rest of the fashion world will sometimes follow. An Australian celebrity landing on the front page of US papers is unlikely here. It’s the same there, their people are more concerned with their own citizens. But have one star connect with the people and wear something unique and its manufacturers will be expanding production.

Australia is known for its great music, its fantastic culture and heritage that goes back thousands of years. It was the British who settled there just as they had done in the US. We’ve had so many different influences on the rest of the world, but sadly the US can’t take credit for these boots. Isn’t there anything more interesting to talk about? We do have much better topics to discuss, but the press reports on what will sell memberships.

How about the boomerang? That’s certainly an Australian invention. That’s a real weapon, something that was used to hunt food and used to survive. Now we have Ugg Boots? Where have we gone astray? My hats off to them, they are able to sustain the demand. Give the people what they want. Well, right now anyways, it seems that people want cheap ugg boots, and they just can’t get enough of them. You have to be smart. Like many products, as soon as the demand is met, the product becomes a memory. Anybody remember the cabbage patch doll craze? As soon as every little kid in the world had one, there was no demand anymore, and the product couldn’t sustain itself to last into the next generation of kids.

So how can the Ugg boot manufacturer prevent this? Keep production down. Yes, keep production low, therefore, everybody doesn’t get one, and you keep the demand up. And how long do we wait? No one can really answer that, but keep it out of people’s hands long enough, and you could reach that next generation. That’s product staying power.
