Imaginative Fancy Dress Costumes
Fancy dress costumes have come a long way from when you just used to find something from inside your home, adapt it with needle and thread and add a few accessories, such as lace doilies or some tinsel.
Nowadays, you no longer need to dread a fancy dress party invitation coming through your door, as you can hire just about any kind of costume; anything from a star of one of the popular soap operas to a movie icon.
When going to a Christmas fancy dress party, you no longer need plump for the usual Mr. and Mrs. Christmas outfits: you can hire an imaginative Christmas tree, that comes with its own tinsel and stars already on it and a matching hat with a star on top. Or you may opt to be an elf in a beer costume, together with a novelty label and complete with a hat and a silver bottle top.
And if you are going to a 70s themed party, then why not go as one of the most popular toys of that era? An orange Space Hopper fancy dress outfit comes complete with the whole Space Hopper on it and is sure to create a few laughs, as well as a few admiring glances.
The Simpsons is one of the most iconic shows of our time and everybody loves Marge and Homer Simpson. You can steal the show with an over-the-top costume of Marge, complete with her dress and necklace, and you are sure to make an impact with a towering, bright blue wig.
Morph suits are becoming increasingly popular and are available in a bright array of different colours, such as red, blue and yellow to name a few. A complete piece of material that covers every inch of your body – although some people choose to add a tie, sunglasses and shorts over the top – sounds so simple, but people who see you in them have to use their imagination, as they won’t have a clue who is inside!
If you want to go to your fancy dress party as something so obscure that there will be no way there will be anyone else there in the same costume, then why not go as a gingerbread man? Or, equally unique, dress up as an Egyptian, the costume for which is elaborate and effective.
Even the most popular costumes of yesteryear, such as dressing up in an 80s costume, as a clown or even as a member of the Addams family, for example, are now designed and manufactured to such a high standard that they are of excellent quality and made in such a way that they are easy to move around in and extremely comfortable.
So you and all your family (as there are also excellent fancy dress costumes available for babies, toddlers and teens) can now go to a fancy dress party dressed up as whoever you want to be – or indeed whoever you have always wanted to be!
