Teens Through the Ages

Most teenagers simply want to look “cool” and will do all they can to rock a stylish image. For generations young people have been aspiring to look like their favourite celeb and have spent a lot of time perfecting their swagger.
But who have our kids tried to copy and follow? Here are some of the most influential and iconic teenage stars of all time:
Donny Osmond

Donny Osmond and his four elder brothers gained fame in the sixties as the Osmond Brothers after appearing on The Andy Williams Show. Donny made his debut performance aged just five and became a teen idol when he went solo in the seventies. Following the release of hit songs such as Go Away Little Girl and Puppy Love, Donny became an international star and was adored by his peers across the globe. Kids today might think they are far too street-wise to sing such mushy song about love and feelings, but back then the youth of the day wanted to be Mr Osmond. Oh how times change.
The Jackson Five

The Jackson Five were one of the biggest pop-music phenomena of the seventies and are one of the most successful bands of all times. Around from 1964 to 1990, the group were fronted by a young Michael Jackson and appealed to both black and white audiences alike. With hits such as I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save and I’ll Be There, all going to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboards Best Selling Soul Singles Chart, the boys were the hottest act around.
Many young people today have appeared on reality TV shows trying to copy the look and sound of this band, however, most of them just have not cut the mustard. It is all very well donning an impressive afro/wig and wearing a pair of flares, but if the talent isn’t there – you certainly won’t impress.
Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake enjoyed fame from a young age, but it was when he became the lead singer of N Sync that his popularity soared. With a cute little baby face and curly locks, this young star could not only sing but could dance too – and boy was he good. One of the most-loved stars of the nineties, boys and girls everywhere wanted to be Justin Timberlake and practiced all the moves from his hit songs. With every word from numbers such as “It’s Guna Be Me and “Girlfriend” nailed, fans literally flocked to see N Sync and their beloved JT perform.
When his relationship with Britney Spears broke in the news, fans everywhere whipped themselves up into a frenzy. The thought they could never date this true hunk of a man for themselves upset them greatly, however, they continued to follow his music and admire him from afar. Justin’s solo album went on to sell over 7 million copies and songs such as Sexy Back, My Love and What Goes Around…Comes Around have enjoyed success worldwide.
Justin Bieber

Many people around the world have been struck down by Bieber fever of late and it is showing no sign of going away. A YouTube sensation turned international star, Justin is one of the biggest pop artists of today and is best-known for his irritatingly catchy hit Baby. After being discovered online and signed by RBMG and Island Records, Beiber inspired many people not to give up on their dreams. A product of a technologically enhanced society, Bieber is one of the most popular acts of recent years.
Many people enjoy five minutes of fame, but true legends live on.
